About me
I am David Jonas and I am a cross-technology computer science engineer, media artist and educator. Based in Spain and The Netherlands, in the last 15 years I worked with diverse artists, museums, cultural institutions and universities around the world. I have been nominated and received awards for my development work and presented art works and software at major venues. An artist, maker and problem solver at heart, I play multiple musical instruments and build custom code, bikes, cars and drones. I have co-founded multiple companies in the culture and gaming industries and belonged to multiple art collectives.
What floats my boat
I am very interested in the symbiotic relationship between the rule driven world of science and technology and the rule defiant world of art. I love to explore how art can complement or even drive science and vice-versa and how both together can make a huge positive impact in the human society. I believe in humans as a species and as a global society. I see any type of division between humans as a mere stepping stone, a temporary solution to problems we are not good enough to solve yet. We will get there and I will do my best to give the biggest contribution I possibly can.
Where do I manage to pull my own weight
Combining different technologies in a creative way to solve unconventional problems, I love Python, C++, C#, Javascript and anything else that solves a problem.
Ok, show me…
